Fiber Arts

Combining step by step instruction with intuitive technique, our fiber arts program encourages artists to engage with a new range of materials. Translating drawn designs into needlepoint gives artists the opportunity to develop a new form of mark-making. Knitting and weaving options engage fine motor skills while developing confidence in new processes. Artists are encouraged to work with a variety of materials and techniques, developing work that can be functional, decorative, framed, and/or sculptural. Work in textiles often results in saleable products. Artists have access to a wide assortment of equipment and materials including professional floor looms and sewing machines.
